Holiday Survival Guide Part 1: Take the Weight Off!

Thanksgiving was less than a month away and marked the official start of the "eating season". If you are in an office the potlucks and surprise treats have likely been non-stop! Holiday parties and drinks with friends to exchange gifts have all been slowing, and adding to, your roll.

The best way to handle that Happy Holidays food-baby bump?

Self- acceptance! That's right ladies and gentlemen- you should take some time today to look in the mirror, come to terms with the damage and continue loving yourself. Give yourself a break, baby, it's cold outside, and there are plenty of things to focus on outside of keeping it tight 24/7.

Understandably, if you are of Hispanic or Asian descent this option may not be for you (I know I am definitely going to catch some heat if I do not have it together by the next time I see my parents!) so here are some tips on how to drop those pounds like some dollar-store make-up you were wrongfully secret santa'd at the office holiday party:

1. STOP EATING.
With less than a week before Christmas your best bet to look mad sexy when you go back to your home town is to fast, fast, FAST like your modeling, acting or singing career depended on how good you look- there is no better #fitspo than someone who spends literally HOURS daily working out and ingesting as few calories as possible. Do you want cake or a thigh gap? Do you want that slice of pizza or to use the $40 copay you'll be spending on therapy, after your mother reminds you that you are going to die alone if you don't get back to your pre-college weight on shoes? SHOES!

2. DOPPLEGANGER
Pay a close friend, acquaintance or actor to go visit your family in your place! Everyone will be so shocked at your transformation you'll be sure to get tons of positive feedback for weeks afterward!

3. WALK
You would be surprised at how many calories walking can burn daily! If you start now you can probably walk back to your hometown by Christmas and are sure to lose a few pounds along the way. If you have moved across state biking would probably be a better option to make sure you arrive in time for presents! Sadly, if you have not moved several hundred miles away from your parents this option will likely not yield the desired results and you may want to just go with #1 or #2.
